They Walk in Darkness, because they have not the Holy Ghost

A walk into darkness; for they have not the Holy Ghost, to know the Devil has pulled them down into his pit, with the chains of hell. We are the Gentiles in the Church; the warnings are mostly pointed to us, the LDS members, not the Gentiles outside of it, who have never read the Book of Mormon.

[The fullness of the Gospel is to be taken from the Gentiles. The end of verse 10, shows that it is not a matter if, but a matter of when, the Gospel will be taken from the Gentiles. The Gentiles in this instance  especially applies to those running the LDS Church and its members in our day; as shown below.]

3 Nephi 16:
10 And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you: At that day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, behold, saith the Father, I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them.

[ What is the fullness of my Gospel, the doctarine that we are challenged to come into the presence of Christ, not at death, but before we die; and receiving your Exaltation, and being one of his sons and daughters; as the Prophet Fathers before us have done, and as Joseph Smith; reference to the end of verse 10 above.]

Mormon 8:
35 Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing.
36 And I know that ye do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, unto the wearing of very fine apparel, unto envying, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and all manner of iniquities; and your churches, yea, even every one, have become polluted because of the pride of your hearts.
37 For behold, ye do love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.
38 O ye pollutions, ye hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have ye polluted the holy church of God? Why are ye ashamed to take upon you the name of Christ? Why do ye not think that greater is the value of an endless happiness than that misery which never dies—because of the praise of the world?
39 Why do ye adorn yourselves with that which hath no life, and yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not?
40 Yea, why do ye build up your secret abominations to get gain, and cause that widows should mourn before the Lord, and also orphans to mourn before the Lord, and also the blood of their fathers and their husbands to cry unto the Lord from the ground, for vengeance upon your heads?
41 Behold, the sword of vengeance hangeth over you; and the time soon cometh that he avengeth the blood of the saints upon you, for he will not suffer their cries any longer.

2 Nephi 26:
20 And the Gentiles are lifted up in the pride of their eyes, and have stumbled, because of the greatness of their stumbling block, that they have built up many churches; nevertheless, they put down the power and miracles of God, and preach up unto themselves their own wisdom and their own learning, that they may get gain and grind upon the face of the poor.

[President Benson most soundly re-warned us in our near past; WO be unto him that is at ease in Zion!
Do we still hear that today ? Presently some of the Church leadership are saying, All is well in Zion; can we trust that, how many times in the past,  have we been told otherwise; especially when our eternal salvation and exaltation is  on the line; can we  trust the arm of flesh.]

2Nephi 28:
24 Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion!
25 Wo be unto him that crieth: All is well!

[Can we ever have enough of the word of God. But the real word of God is actually personal revelation from God to each individual, as they pray and read scripture, learning line upon, and  being sanctified to be like him in the process. That is the only word of God that can save us and bring us into his presence.]

26 Yea, wo be unto him that hearkeneth unto the precepts of men, and denieth the power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost!
27 Yea, wo be unto him that saith: We have received, and we need no more!
28 And in fine, wo unto all those who tremble, and are angry because of the truth of God! For behold, he that is built upon the rock receiveth it with gladness; and he that is built upon a sandy foundation trembleth lest he shall fall.

[How well do we as LDS sit secure in our homes and churches and think, we know all that God has revealed, until he reveals more to our leaders. We need to look at D & C 76: 7,  And to them will I reveal all mysteries, yea, all the hidden mysteries of my kingdom from days of old, and for ages to come, will I make known unto them the good pleasure of my will concerning all things pertaining to my kingdom.
8 Yea, even the wonders of eternity shall they know, and things to come will I show them, even the things of many generations.
9 And their wisdom shall be great, and their understanding reach to heaven; and before them the wisdom of the wise shall perish, and the understanding of the prudent shall come to naught.
10 For by my Spirit will I enlighten them, and by my power will I make known unto them the secrets of my will—yea, even those things which eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor yet entered into the heart of man.]

29 Wo be unto him that shall say: We have received the word of God, and we need no more of the word of God, for we have enough!
30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.

[We are reminded here not to trust the Arm of Flesh; we should only trust and learn from Christ; unless the Holy Ghost testifies what a person says is true; but if you lack the Holy Ghost, can you tell if they do, or do you just hope they are teaching correct principles;  again can one afford to be so trusting, if their  exaltation stands in the balance.]

31 Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.

[Here again, a prophecy is given, that says apostasy will come to the Gentile LDS Church, but he will show mercy to those who repent. Who are they, not the ones seen as active Saints, in good standing within the Church; all whom are chanting,  all is well, follow the Prophet, he will not lead you astray. This warning again, is not for those outside of the Church, but those within it.]

32 Wo be unto the Gentiles, saith the Lord God of Hosts! For notwithstanding I shall lengthen out mine arm unto them from day to day, they will deny me; nevertheless, I will be merciful unto them, saith the Lord God, if they will repent and come unto me; for mine arm is lengthened out all the day long, saith the Lord.

[There are save but two Churches, the Church of the Lamb and the Church of the devil; it says nothing about the LDS Church; one has to conclude that the warning includes it/us as well. There is no indication in Scripture, that the LDS Church will have any existence beyond this period of mortal life, the Church of the Lamb will be the only Church after this time; and then Church of the First Born for those who become like Christ.]

1 Nephi 14:
9 And it came to pass that he said unto me: Look, and behold that great and abominable church, which is the mother of abominations, whose founder is the devil.
10 And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth.

[If there are only two churches, which one do you belong to, which one do you think you are in? Can you ignore any warning, that the possibility might exist,   you might  be in the wrong one.]

2 Nephi 28:
18 But behold, that great and abominable church, the whore of all the earth, must tumble to the earth, and great must be the fall thereof.

[I see some shaking in our near future, the Lord will allow something to happen in the Church, that will cause those with the faith,  and eyes to see, and the ears to hear,  that something is amiss.]

19 For the kingdom of the devil must shake, and they which belong to it must needs be stirred up unto repentance, or the devil will grasp them with his everlasting chains, and they be stirred up to anger, and perish;

[Men come to believe the precepts of men, mingled with Scripture, as their truths, as did those Hebrews and Jews of the past,  and as those in the Book of Mormon, who fell. If you believe you will be saved, like the Zoramites, is that not in a way, saying three is no hell. And if God is trying to speak to you, are you not also denying the Holy Ghost. ]

20 For behold, at that day shall he rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good.
21 And others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well—and thus the devil cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.
22 And behold, others he flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none—and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no deliverance.rd God of Hosts.

The Holy Ghost is able to tell you all things, once you have it, no other source is needed, to bring you unto Christ and the Father.  The Lord has more recently shown me:

Faith =Holy Ghost= Salvation/Exaltation

No Holy Ghost = No Revelations=No Salvation/Exaltation

My Sheep hear my voice, those that do not, are not my Sheep; taken from Joseph Smith’s, Lectures on Faith.

Without the Holy Ghost, one cannot approach me and the Father, Amen

People with the Holy Ghost follow Christ, those without the Holy Ghost, follow men. People who follow men, do not have the Holy Ghost.

People who follow men, never learn to know their Heavenly Father and Christ. Which is needed to have a true testimony with Christ; one has to have actually seen, heard or been touched by him; by having a living relationship with him; to know him and have a testimony of him.

Enter by the Strait and Narrow path.

To enter by the way, in verse 5 below, is a similar phrase as entering upon the Strait and Narrow Path in other Book of Mormon verses; Definition of  unbelief, in  the Book of Mormon, in verse 7 below, means that you believe incorrect doctrine, or in other words, you believe and follow incorrect doctrines and truths. In the same verse, ignorant does not mean, they know nothing, it means they have learned incorrect truths; studied ignorance is harder to cast away; then we have stiffneckedness, that decidedly shows we are committed greatly to those incorrect truths.

Our eyes cannot be open to the truth, until we sincerely ask God to remove the scales of darkness that cover our eyes to see, they blind, and block the light of the Holy Spirit from entering in.

We do not begin to converse through the Veil with the Lord, to eventually enter his presence, until we have received our Baptism of Fire, and companionship of the Holy Ghost.

We should preclude always, that when the Book of Mormon is talking about Gentiles, the LDS Church and Members are included; some verses actually are specifically aimed at the LDS Gentile Members as WO’s  and Warnings.

2 Nephi 32:

1 And now, behold, my beloved brethren, I suppose that ye ponder somewhat in your hearts concerning that which ye should do after ye have entered in by the way. But, behold, why do ye ponder these things in your hearts?
Do ye not remember that I said unto you that after ye had received the Holy Ghost ye could speak with the tongue of angels? And now, how could ye speak with the tongue of angels save it were by the Holy Ghost?
Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.

[Angel’s speak by the power of the Holy Ghost, if we speak by the Holy Ghost, we speak as the Angels; an Angel can be any one who speaks the words of Christ, by the Holy Ghost, even us, if we have the Holy Ghost. But we need to have first been cleansed, and been found worthy; that we will believe and follow Christ no matter what. We will then have our Baptism of Fire, at some point after our Baptism by Water, some have it happen right after baptism, some later, we all progress differently; our Savior is most loving and patient; he patiently waits to help us. We deceive ourselves if we think we have the Holy Ghost, just because we have been Baptized; especially if we do not have the signs and gifts of the Spirit, that comes to those with the Holy Ghost.]

Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words, if ye cannot understand them it will be because ye ask not, neither do ye knock; wherefore, ye are not brought into the light, but must perish in the dark.
5 For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.

[We obtain this right, by obedience to the light we have received, the more we heed and obey, the more light one will receive; growing grace upon grace, until we gain a fullness like Christ, but you must act, or you will not come into the light, and the darkness and the chains of hell shall over take you, and you will know it not, until it is ever lasting too late.]

D & C 130: 23
A man may receive the Holy Ghost, and it may descend upon him and not tarry with him.

D & C 50:  17 Verily I say unto you, he that is ordained of me and sent forth to preach the word of truth by the Comforter, in the Spirit of truth, doth he preach it by the Spirit of truth or some other way?
18 And if it be by some other way it is not of God.
19 And again, he that receiveth the word of truth, doth he receive it by the Spirit of truth or some other way?
20 If it be some other way it is not of God.
21 Therefore, why is it that ye cannot understand and know, that he that receiveth the word by the Spirit of truth receiveth it as it is preached by the Spirit of truth?
22 Wherefore, he that preacheth and he that receiveth, understand one another, and both are edified and rejoice together.
23 And that which doth not edify is not of God, and is darkness.
24 That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.
 25 And again, verily I say unto you, and I say it that you may know the truth, that you may chase darkness from among you;

[Just because a person can speak from Scripture or another way, that does not mean it is the will of God; trust not in the Arm of Flesh, unless the Holy Ghost bears witness of that man an truth. Our only allegiance should be to God the Father and his son Jesus Christ; we should put no one else between them and us.]

Behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and there will be no more doctrine given until after he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh. And when he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh, the things which he shall say unto you shall ye observe to do.

[Ok, what is the doctarine of Christ, it is rather simple as shown in Scripture, that is, we repent and come unto him, and follow him until the end. That end, is in part, when he appears to us, and our calling and election is made sure; it was meant to mean now, not after we die. If think othersize, we put our exaltation in jeopody.]

Only by gaining the Holy Ghost, by turning to Christ and developing a relationship with him, does our exaltation come to pass. This is not an easy path, the correct truths of God rarely remain pure upon the earth for very long, much of what Christ may teach, will contradict what you have been taught; case in point, the beliefs of the Jews when Christ came to fulfill all righteousness. We would not want to find ourselves reacting like Christ’s people did to him; to any one bearing truth and light today; who Christ has sent to help us. Our time today, is a shadow of what was happening in the Americas and in the Middle East prior to Christ’s Crucifixion.]

7 And now I, Nephi, cannot say more; the Spirit stoppeth mine utterance, and I am left to mourn because of the unbelief, and the wickedness, and the ignorance, and the stiffneckedness of men; for they will not search knowledge, nor understand great knowledge, when it is given unto them in plainness, even as plain as word can be.
8 And now, my beloved brethren, I perceive that ye ponder still in your hearts; and it grieveth me that I must speak concerning this thing. For if ye would hearken unto the Spirit which teacheth a man to pray, ye would know that ye must pray; for the evil spirit teacheth not a man to pray, but teacheth him that he must not pray.
9 But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul.

[2 Nephi 28 speaks of our time, as many verses do in the Book of Mormon. But the  verses below add to and back up the preceding verses in 2 Nephi 32: 7-9 above; remember the warnings in the Book of Mormon for our day, are for us, the Gentiles in the LDS Church.]

2 Nephi 28: 11 Yea, they have all gone out of the way; they have become corrupted.
12 Because of pride, and because of false teachers, and false doctrine, their churches have become corrupted, and their churches are lifted up; because of pride they are puffed up.
13 They rob the poor because of their fine sanctuaries; they rob the poor because of their fine clothing; and they persecute the meek and the poor in heart, because in their pride they are puffed up.
14 They wear stiff necks and high heads; yea, and because of pride, and wickedness, and abominations, and whoredoms, they have all gone astray save it be a few, who are the humble followers of Christ; nevertheless, they are led, that in many instances they do err because they are taught by the precepts of men.

[From the verses above, in 2 Nephi 28, it is shown, it is not if, but when we as LDS will fall into apostasy as a people, except for a few, who are the humble followers of Christ; which side do you want to be on. Those who are cleansed from this earth or those called by Christ to join him in Zion, at his wedding party, while all the rest are slowly eliminated.]

The Lord has recently started calling his sheep out of Babylon, have you heard him? We should all be concerned if we are right with him; “My sheep hear my voice, those that do not hear my voice, are not my Sheep”, Joseph Smith, Lectures on Faith.
